Garnier – Ultimate Blends Papaya And Alma Hair Food

I need to put this out there before reviewing this, I am in no way shape or form a hair ‘expert’, I don’t even claim to be that of skincare, but hair, definatly not.
Saying this, I feel my hair isn’t awful, it’s natural (I was blonde a couple of years a go but that’s long gone), it’s hardly ever against heat, and I leave it a good few days between washing. The products I use are probably not the greatest, £1 shampoo and conditioner… says it all really doesn’t it (don’t shoot me).
When I do wash, (every 3/4 days) I always use argan oil when hair is damp.

Despite all this, my hair does tend to get quite dry. I don’t get my hair done as regularly than recommended (every 6 weeks), mainly because when I’m working, it’s shoved in a bun which usually gets a grandual flop on as the day goes on. Gross.

This hair mask has been everywhere, hasn’t it? I go into my local Boots/Superdrug and go to grab, then… nah.
But I’ve been ”treating myself” a LOT during this lockdown, so I took the plunge.

Lets start with the smell, friggin’ delicious. Photographing this took longer than intended, I was nose deep in the tub and loud exhaling at the fruity, sweet scent. Proper will power to not eat it.
The smell, unlike a lot of hair products on the market, actually lingers in your hair once it’s dried!
They also do Banana and Shea, Aloe Vera and Coconut. I really want them all, is that bad?

So they advertise these masks as ‘3 in 1’
-Conditioner: As you would in the shower
-Mask: Leave in hair for 3 mins
-Leave in: Apply to ends after your shower to reduce split ends.

Admittedly, I don’t do any of the above. I leave in for about 1 hour+ after shampoo, then wash out.
It leaves the hair lovely and soft. I have natural curls and the curls are much nicer than usual when dried. Hair looks healthier for longer, you can tell theres some good ingredients here.

Some things highlighted on the packaging note that it’s vegan, 96% biodegradable formula, dermatologically tested and contain plant oils. No silicones (although I’m not completely against them). So if these are important to you, perfect.
They also segment the ingredients by their origin, but a nice little *** for clearly lab sourced stuff, not sure why, skincare IS science bitch.

The container is in a hefty little 390ml, if you want to use this as just conditioner this will last you ages! I always put a bit extra in mine as a mask, tie it in a bobble and enjoy a glass of wine.

As mentioned earlier, my hair has no colouring, so I’m not sure how this is catered for bleached or coloured hair, maybe ask your hairdresser what’s best.

”Colouring may vary”

I purchased mine from Superdrug.

That’s all for this review. Do you have this at home? What do you think about the other scents?
Let me know in the comments!
